Start your own band!

Issue 02 of Dank magazine came out a little while ago, and you should definitely try to get your hands on it, as it must be the most exciting skateboard magazine out there right now. Yes, those guys managed to achieve that status in two issues…

Funny thing is Dank is coming out of Oslo, in Norway. Seems like the local scene had no magazine for years, so Eirik Traavik, Aksel Overskott and Jørn Aagaard not only decided to start one, but to shoot straight for the top!

Cover was shot by Chrisian Raae.

And after foreigners mourned the impossibility to read what looked like interesting articles and interviews in issue 01, the second came with this english insert. Clever.

I was lucky to contribute a story about Magenta skateboards, which I won’t spoil here, but only tease, with the opener, showing Soy Panday (Magenta art director) drawing in his Paris apartment.

I’m quite found of that Jack Sabback and Vivien Feil photograph from a cold autumn day in NYC that did not go as planned, as it happens quite a lot in those mean streets. Still a great memory, as always with those guys.

Now that I think about it, I have been quite around town with Soy and Vivien, over the years… Berlin, New York City, New Delhi? But this would be another story!

Anyway, find out more about Dank, here and Magenta, here.
